Fr. Jude Botelho

Fr. Jude Botelho was born and brought up in Mumbai, India and was ordained in 1970. He served in several parishes before being appointed as Diocesan Director of Youth and Director of the Diocesan Pastoral Centre in Bandra.

From there he was transferred to the Catholic Bishop's Conference of India, (C.B.C.I) Delhi, and was in charge of the Media Office and functioned as Executive Secretary of the CBCI Commission for Social Communications for five years before proceeding for further studies in communications.

After co-ordinating the youth ministry for Bombay and the Western Region of India, he was involved in the communications ministry and was Executive Secretary for Unda/OCIC India (The Catholic Association for Radio, Television Cinema and Audio Visuals) and subsequently functioned as Executive Secretary for Unda Asia.

He is a founder member of the National Institute of Social Communications, Research and Training, (NISCORT) based at Delhi.

At present he is a member of the Asian Communication Network (ACN) and an elected member of the Board of Management of SIGNIS, the World Catholic Association for Communications. He is currently completing his doctoral studies at the Univ. of Westminster, London on the use of the Internet for Religion, a case-study of Internet use in the Archdiocese of Mumbai.
