The Holy Rosary

The Scriptural Rosary: Variations on a Theme

A prayer (say this prayer once at the start of the Rosary all together):
Heavenly Father, you have shown me so clearly that I cannot overcome anger in my own strength and by my own resources. Grant me, therefore, by the power of your Holy Spirit, the grace to control my temper, and the ability to respond with love - no matter how grave the provocation or how hurful the injury. I make this prayer in Jesus’s name. Amen.

Our Father ...
“You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘Do not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’ But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, ‘Raca,‘ is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell.
(Matthew 5:21-22)
Hail Mary ...
“In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold.
(Ephesians 4:26-27)
Hail Mary ...
Better a patient man than a warrior, a man who controls his temper than one who takes a city.
(Proverbs 16:32)
Hail Mary ...
My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man’s anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.
(James 1:19,20)
Hail Mary ...
But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.
(Colossians 3:8)
Hail Mary ...
Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools.
(Ecclesiastes 7:9)
Hail Mary ...
A fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise man keeps himself under control.
(Proverbs 29:11)
Hail Mary ...
An angry man stirs up dissension, and a hot-tempered one commits many sins.
(Proverbs 29:22)
Hail Mary ...
Reckless words pierce like a sword, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.
(Proverbs 12:18)
Hail Mary ...
A man’s wisdom gives him patience; it is to his glory to overlook an offense.
(Proverbs 19:11)
Hail Mary ...
Glory be ...

Oh my Jesus ...
