The Holy Rosary

The Scriptural Rosary: Variations on a Theme

A prayer (say this prayer once at the start of the Rosary all together):
Heavenly Father, your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path (Ps. 119:105). I ask for your grace to always live by your word. Help me read it, understand it, and most of all obey it; and in everything I do, let it be your will that is done and not my own. I make this prayer in Jesus’s name. Amen.

(1 Samuel 15:22)
Hail Mary ...
If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the best from the land; but if you resist and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword.

(John 14:23)
Hail Mary ...
“The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. So you must obey them and do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach.
(Matthew 23:2-3)
Hail Mary ...
“Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, obey the commandments.”

This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome.
(1 John 5:2-3)
Hail Mary ...
See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse - the blessing if you obey the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today; the curse if you disobey the commands of the Lord your God.
(Deuteronomy 11:26-28)
Hail Mary ...
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
(James 1:22)
Hail Mary ...
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
(Matthew 7:21)
Hail Mary ...
Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine, you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’
(Exodus 19:5-6)
Hail Mary ...
Glory be ...

Oh my Jesus ...
