The Holy Rosary

The Scriptural Rosary: Variations on a Theme

Sin

A prayer (say this prayer once at the start of the Rosary all together):
Heavenly Father, with Jesus’ death and resurrection, he freed us from bondage of sin and released us from slavery to the evil one, restoring us to your image and likeness. Help us resist temptation so that we can always remain in your image and likeness, and be perfect and holy like you are. I make this prayer in Jesus’s name. Amen.

Our Father ...
You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.
(Romans 6:18)
Hail Mary ...
You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you.
(Romans 8:9)
Hail Mary ...
Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
(Matthew 5:48)
Hail Mary ...
“As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do for it is written: ‘Be holy, because I am holy’ “.
(1 Peter 1:14-16)
Hail Mary ...
“When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
(John 8:12)
Hail Mary ...
“If anyone obeys his word God’s love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him. Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.”
(1 John 2:5-6)
Hail Mary ...
Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God — I say this to your shame.
(1 Corinthians 15:34)
Hail Mary ...
Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires.
(Romans 6:12)
Hail Mary ...
“Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.
(Colossians 3:5-7)
Hail Mary ...
No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.
(1 John 3:6)
Hail Mary ...
Glory be ...

Oh my Jesus ...
