Vocation to the Priesthood

What is a vocation to the priesthood?

When God calls a person to be close to Him and to do only His work as a priest we call that a vocation to the priesthood. It is an extraordinary way of life. A young man dedicates his whole life to God. He knows who God is and his heart is filled with love for God. He becomes representative on earth. God send this young man to serve people, to tell them about His love and mercy and to bring everyone close to God. It is a most beautiful way of living one's life.

You will remember the way in which Moses and the prophet Jeremiah were called to give their lives to God. In the New Testament the apostles had the same experience. Each of them received a vocation to represent God on earth.
