Week 41
It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle... (Matthew 19:24)
"The human person, created in the image and likeness of God, cannot become a slave to things, to economic systems, to technological civilization, to consumerism, to easy success." --Pope John Paul II, Poznan, Poland
Think About That
Because we are created in the image and likeness of God our whole life is meant to be about loving our neighbors and loving God. When we get caught up in all the stuff of life, like money, like video or computer games, like buying cool clothes, like finding the easy way out, all these things distract us from what really matters--caring for and about others.
Take Action
How much time in a given week do you spend on each of the following activities?
Earning money
Buying things
Playing or chatting on the computer
Playing video games
Finding ways to make your life easier
Praying
Doing good deeds for others
How do you spend most of your time? How do you want to spend most of your time? What does God ask of you? This week find some answers to these questions.
Say A Prayer
Lord, help me to spend my time on the things that matter in life rather than on all the distractions available to me.
Did You Know?
