Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God (Matthew 5:9)
A father decided to take his little baby boy for a stroll through the park. There was a football match going on in the park so he decided to watch it for a while. He got so involved in the action that he lost complete account of time, and it was only when the baby began to scream that he came back to earth.
He looked at his watch, and was horrified to discover that it was over an hour past the baby's feeding-time. Hurriedly, he headed back towards home, while the baby continued to scream. He kept murmuring, "It's okay, Donald, you're okay; we'll be home in a minute. Calm down, Donald. You're doing very well, Donald. You'll be home in a few minutes."
An old lady sitting on the park bench overheard the conversation. She approached the push-chair, looked into the pram, rubbed the baby's cheek, and said "Stop crying, Donald. Your dad is very good and he is taking good care of you."
To which the father replied, "Excuse me, ma'am, but his name is Leslie. I'm Donald."
You cannot be a peace-maker in the lives of others if you don't have peace within your own heart. Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with you…
