Group Ages:
13 – 25 years
Activity Level:
Medium
Competition Level:
Minimum
Location:
Indoors/Outdoors
Equipment Needed:
- 5 laminated Road Sign posters per group [Click here for templates]
- 1 Activity Sheet per participant
- 1 pencil
- Optional clipboard as a backing for the Activity Sheets
Pre-Activity Set-Up:
Print out selected Road Signs on A3 size paper and laminate the sheets so they do not tear from repeated handling by group members.
Directions:
- Divide the youth into groups.
- Distribute the ‘Road Signs’ Activity Sheet and a pencil to each participant (you can have the youth volunteer to distribute them for you).
- Distribute 5 Road Sign laminates to each group.
- Read out the Activity to the group.
- Demonstrate the activity by using one Road Sign as an example. For instance, the “No U Turn” sign could represent God telling His people not to turn back to a life of sin. A scripture reference could be John 8:11 in which Jesus tells the woman in adultery to go and ‘sin no more.’
- Assign 30 minutes for the activity. Have individual members of the groups present and share the biblical concept with the other groups,
Note: This is a very interesting and interactive activity that is very popular with the youth. It will generate a lot of interest in the Bible. Youth will love the innovative approach, which also gives them the opportunity to stand in front of people and present ideas.
