Common Interests!
Objective: To help youth discover shared interests.

Pre-Activity Set-Up:

Directions:
Divide the youth into equal sized teams of four or five members. Give each team a paper and pencil. Have each team list everything their team members have in common; e.g. a band/actor all members like, an instrument they can all play, a school they all attend, or a type of cuisine they all relish. Tell them they have three minutes to put their lists together. The team that has discovered the most things they have in common wins.
Note: This helps youth discover shared interests. You can follow up the activity with a fifteen minute discussion on how easy or difficult it is to find shared interests, on how similar interests can draw us closer and how different interests can be used as a learning experience.
