Activity Level:
Medium
Competition Level:
Minimum
Location:
Indoors
Equipment Needed:
One Couch
Chairs
Papers
Pencils
Pre-Activity Set-Up:
None.
Directions:
Put two boys and two girls on the couch.
Everyone else sits on a chair with one empty chair in between them.
Write the names of all participants on separate slips of paper.
Distribute these, making sure no one reveals the name of the person he/she receives.
The object of the game is for the boys or girls to control the couch. To begin, the person sitting to the left of the empty chair calls any member's name.
The person who has the paper with that name (NOT the person whose name it is) moves to the empty chair and exchanges papers with the person who called the name.
The person to the left of the newly vacated chair calls out the next name. This continues until either four guys or four girls are sitting on the couch.
Note: This small activity gets new members introduced to each other while relaxing the atmosphere for the day's session.
