Objective: An activity to introduce newcomers into the group.

Lots of paper clips
Pre-Activity Set-Up:
None.
Directions:
Round One
- Divide the youth who have attended earlier sessions into three groups. Have the newcomers stand outside.
- Give each youngster ten clips if the groups are large. If the groups are small, give them twenty or thirty clips.
- Have them link up the paper clips with the team finishing first winning this round.
Round Two
- Now have each group try to persuade one of the new members (or members arriving late) to give them his/her clips. The members can give all their clips to one group, or split them between groups.
- The group with the maximum number of clips wins.
Note: You can use this activity to talk about unity. You can also use it to talk about persuasion and the compromises that people make.
